Mountain pine ridge

This week me and Nikita went to do some sightseeing with friends in the congregation.

First stop we went to a cave, Rio Frio Cave.(yes this is the actual name) The massive mouth of the cave is its signature! This cave is located in Mountain Pine ridge area. A little river runs through the cave and a small beach is inside too. We climbed almost everywhere in the cave, through it and around it.It was beautiful! Below are some pictures.

Second stop – Rio on Pools!! Wow!! This is also in the mountain pine ridge forest reserve. Rio on pools is made of giant granite natural fresh water rock pools and ledges, slides and waterfalls. Very refreshing cool water as it has been over 40•C. The drive was also breath taking driving along red sand roads in the back of the pick up truck along the mountains covered in dense jungle. One of my favourite days!

3rd stop- big rock falls!! We parked up and hiked down steep stairs which used upside down bottle caps for grip on the uneven steps. Once you reach there are 2 impressive rock pools. The view with the mountains surrounding them is amazing. The falls are very powerful but we swam close to them and sat under it on the rocks. No pictures can really do it justice.
