Today we have had a number of torrential rain showers with the roads flooded in no time.  This morning Bronwyn and I went trolley witnessing in the local town with 2 visiting Korean sisters from Canada. We located the  trolleys in the town square under some hawker tents and had an excellent time , each talking to a couple of people for the duration of the morning.

Bronwyn, after chatting to an elderly man who called her over and showing him the videos , ended her long chat with him saying that he would attend the public talk on Sunday….hope he does, he seemed  such a nice man. She had a second amazing discussion with young lady who was from the main land , working on the island for a few days. She was very appreciative when approached , thanked Bronwyn for the invitation to the assembly, watched the video “Why study the Bible” and told Bronwyn that “God works in mysterious ways “.

Travelling back to the kingdom hall with the 2 witnessing trolleys on a golf cart was a challenge in itself but keeping them dry while raining and navigating through flooded roads took this fun challenge too a whole new level 🙂 —- Glad to report all literature except 2 tracts  made it safely back……They could really do with the plastic rain covers we use in the UK.

Just a bit on house to house ministry here which is quite different. In a number of the areas homes are built in reclaimed mangroves swamps. Often they are raised above the ground but a large part of the home  may be in water or very wet ground. Also sometimes the homes  have large dogs (Pitbulls and streetdogs are very common)….so getting to the front door is not always easy and so its common practice to call out to the householder “Morning” from the road a few times until they appear. When they do, 99% of the time you will have a wonderful call……

The congregation literature is shipped across from the mainland every couple of weeks and the brothers then collect it from the water taxi depot. Below is a picture taken on Saturday as the boxes headed their way to the KH after being collected.
