What an amazing weekend. Best way to describe it  was that it was like a ‘mini international’. Each day we experienced many new spiritual gifts from Jehovah and met brothers and sisters from across Belize and the Mexican Yucatan peninsula. On Sunday there  were 777 in attendance.

As there are many in special , full time service or serving as need greaters , we heard some very encouraging experiences from the Belize and Yucatan circuit :

A brother and sister related how they simplified their lives and joined the English congregation in the very south of Belize as  special pioneers –  they walk 2 to 3 hours to the territory daily. Jehovah has blessed them with  30 Bible studies and 4 were baptised on Saturday with the 5th not being able to attend due to husband opposition.

Another couple explained how Jehovah has always been there for them.  At one stage they desperately needed accommodation so they prayed to Jehovah and being very specific asked for a concrete house with a fence around it in a secure neighbourhood that was affordable. They had not told anyone of their need. The next day while pioneering on their bicycles a man runs into the road and asks them if they know anyone looking to rent a house …..A concrete house with a fence and of course affordable in a safe neighbourhood.

Yet another brother related how he had got involved in drugs and drug dealing at an early age,  had been beaten up severely  and ended up in intensive care . Coming out of hospital he was very revengeful and eventually due to further actions received a 15 year jail sentence.  After his release while on probation  , he explained how his life  changed when meeting the witnesses. Today he serves as regular pioneer with his wife in Belize.

But probably the most moving was of a sister in attendance who was told a few months back that she only had 4 months to live by her doctor.  She said to the doctor that “he is not Jehovah and only Jehovah knows how long she has  ” – she had an aim to help 2 new ones come to know Jehovah.  Yesterday both of her Bible studies were baptised. She has now set a new goal to help 2 more come into the truth and  the brother was glad to report that in the past few days she has started 1 new Bible study.  She continues to be very zealous and regular in the ministry.
